Student Selection
In all cases, the Chicago Grammar School retains the right to determine, in its sole discretion, whether or not to select a student for admission. Following the completion and review of a candidate's file, the admissions committee makes one of three decisions:
- Acceptance
An enrollment agreement is sent to the candidate's family. If the agreement is not signed and returned to CGS with the required deposit by the designated date, the offer of acceptance is withdrawn and the place reserved for the child will be made available to another candidate. - Wait List
When there are more qualified candidates than openings available, CGS establishes an unranked waiting list. If any openings occur, CGS decides which candidate(s) to offer a position based on the overall profile of the class and the match between the needs and qualifications of the candidate with the needs of CGS. - Denial
When CGS cannot offer a place to a child, the Executive Director is available to counsel on other schools that may be able to better serve the student.
